The tour will cover 25 venues across the country this year, beginning in Cork on 17th April. The CPD events will include two CPD seminars, nZEB Made Simple from Quinn Building Products, and Airtightness & Active Moisture Management Using Intelligent Vapour Checks from Ecological Building Systems.
The double seminars will allow attendees to earn two CPD points and hear from the Technical experts at Quinn Building Products and Ecological Building Systems on two of the most important aspects of building design currently facing the Irish construction industry: nZEB and Airtightness.
The content of these complimentary seminars has been tailored to help Irish construction professionals:
- Reduce primary energy consumption to optimal levels
- Reduce demand on renewable technologies
- Futureproof buildings with enhanced thermal performance
- Achieve Part L nZEB compliance
All public buildings built after 31st December 2018 need to be built to nZEB standard, and all buildings built after 31st December 2020 must also be nZEB compliant, so understanding what this entails and how to achieve the required standards is critical for the Irish construction industry.
These seminars will provide an understanding of how buildings use and lose energy, and how a Fabric First Approach can reduce energy usage. Attendees will be shown how this Fabric First Approach combined with clever detailing can help make achieving nZEB standards simple.
Speaking of the joint venture with Ecological Building Systems, Jason Martin, Specification and Product Development Manager, said:
“With the introduction of the new nZEB standards, the onus is on everyone in the construction fraternity to find practical solutions which will deliver more energy efficient buildings in a simple and cost-effective manner. Together with Ecological Building Systems, we want to show that the move towards low energy sustainable buildings can be easily achieved. We’ve been working with the Technical team at Ecological Building Systems in developing two complimentary seminars which will add maximum value for the audience, and we’re very much looking forward to working with them this year. The content has been specifically tailored to suit anyone in the Irish construction industry, including Architects, Architectural Technologists, BER Assessors, Designers and Developers.”
