Quinn have recently introduced a new cloud-based workshop management and planning system called Assetminder in their Fermanagh-based Garage facilities and dedicated Vehicle Inspection Centre, which is designed to provide real-time fleet vehicle maintenance and asset management data and eliminate unnecessary paper-based records.
The software provides a comprehensive solution to the Fleet and Workshop Managers, with increased efficiency, visibility and real-time communication across sites.
The system utilises a module which connects data directly from the Vehicle Inspection Centre to the main Garage facilities, which allows vehicle tests to be recorded on mobile devices with any material defects communicated in real-time to the Garage for scheduling of work.
The built-in scheduling features of the system allows automated allocation of work to individual Fitters in the workshop, and ensures vehicle maintenance scheduling is compliant with all necessary legislation.
The introduction of this digital recording and scheduling system ensures real-time communication between the two facilities and visibility on asset maintenance costs to allow more effective decision making on retention and disposal.
The launch of the new system is the result of a 12 month roll-out project, and further enhances the Fleet Management Systems in place. Speaking of the new system, Kevin McGarry, Garage Manager, said,
“There has been significant time and effort invested in bringing this project to full implementation. The adoption of mobile and tablet devices to replace paperwork for numerous tasks requires the support and involvement of every individual, and this has led to the very successful adoption of the technology.
The system is a very valuable resource in asset management, which will enable effective decision making and help to streamline our maintenance processes.”
Improved efficiency has been achieved through the use of mobile devices for recording of vehicle maintenance data, and the resulting reduction in paperwork.”
